Numerical calculation of unsteady shock reflection processes
Abstract
Numerical simulations on unsteady shock reflections by a ramp have been conducted in order to investigate viscous effects in unsteady shock reflection processes both for higher and lower incident shock Mach number. The 2D Navier-Stokes equations with thin layer approximation are solved numerically by a TVD scheme. The results show significant changes of shock reflection patterns with Reynolds number for both cases.
