Driven growth in the restricted solid on solid model
Abstract
Results of numerical simulations of growth in a restricted solid on solid model are described. The exponent beta is calculated by comparing the surface width with a spatially averaged height correlation function. The latter is shown to yield more reliable results, even for relatively small systems. The exponent chi is obtained from saturation of the interface fluctuations in the late time regime. The results lead to a new conjecture of dimension dependent exponents as beta (d) = 1/(d+1), chi (d) = 2/(d+2). How crossover effects may affect the values of these exponents is shown and the relation of the model to the continuum growth equations is discussed.
