Criticality of helical electron beam shaping systems in cyclotron autoresonance masers with respect to positional particle scatter
Abstract
The use of undulator systems for improving the quality of the electron beam in cyclotron autoresonance masers is examined. It is shown that a system of simple short (wideband) undulators can be used to achieve efficient electron beam formation with acceptable criticality with respect to positional particle scatter. It is further shown that systems consisting of conductors arranged on both sides of the beam are less critical with respect to the initial positional particle scatter.
