Radiation of a monoenergetic beam of noninteracting ultrarelativistic charged particles in a scattering medium
Abstract
A study is made of the bremsstrahlung of a monoenergetic beam of noninteracting classical fast charged particles undergoing multiple elastic collisions with chaotic ambient atoms. The spectral energy density distribution of the bremsstrahlung of such particles is determined through a systematic kinetic analysis of the radiation process. In contract to the spectrum of an individual radiator, the resulting spectrum is an essentially nonmonotonic frequency function and has at least one extremum.
