Axial response and pulse behavior of a cylindrical liquid column. Part 2
Abstract
The response of an axially excited cylindrical liquid column consisting of incompressible and frictionless liquid was investigated for various pulse excitations. The free liquid surface displacement and the velocity response were determined analytically for periodic rectangular and triangular excitation, as well as for pulses of duration and of rectangular, triangular, and sine wave pulses. The results shall be used for the experiment 'LICORE' (liquid column resonances) on the second German Spacelab mission D-2.
