A method for determining the plasma frequency reduction coefficient of an electron flux
Abstract
A method for determining the plasma frequency reduction coefficient of an electron beam is proposed which uses the effect of the diffraction radiation of a modulated electron beam. The method is based on the electronwave representation of processes occurring in microwave electrovacuum devices which indicate the excitation in finite electron beams of an infinite series of space charge density waves propagating with different phase velocities. The validity of the method is demonstrated experimentally.
