Traveling waves of the Burger and Korteveg-De Vries-Burger equations with viscosity coefficient of variable sign
Abstract
Traveling-wave equations depending on the viscosity coefficient of variable signs are investigated. Three types of traveling waves are considered: periodic waves, shock transition waves on zero background, and an oscillating wave. The possibility of constructing traveling waves of the first equation as a limit of solutions to the second one with dispersion tending to zero is discussed.
