Unstable spacetime in the Jordan-Brans-Dicke gravity.
Abstract
A Jordan-Brans-Dicke (JBD) type theory is an essential ingredient in a successful scenario of new inflation, extended inflation, and naturally appears in many unified theories including gravity. Strong field aspect of this theory is analyzed by using a complete set of exact solutions. It is pointed out that the problem of naked singularity and instability inherent in these theories may be avoided due to a dilaton coupling to gauge fields.
