Simultaneous Measurement of the Superfluid Density and Heat Capacity of Thin Films of HELIUM-4 in Vycor Glass.

Measurements of the superfluid density, rho_ s, and the heat capacity, C _ v, of thin films of ^4He were made in the same piece of Vycor glass. The observation of a sharp peak in C_ v coincident with the T_ c associated with the superfluid transition is conclusive evidence that the superfluid transition of thin films in Vycor glass is three dimensional in nature.
