Epitaxial Y1Ba2Cu3O(7-x) / Pr1Ba2Cu3O(7-x) heterostructures
Abstract
Two-layer and multilayer Y1Ba2Cu3O(7-x) / Pr1Ba2Cu3O(7-x) epitaxial heterostructures with layers from 100 to 3000 A thick produced by in situ pulsed laser spraying were studied by electron diffraction and Auger electron spectroscopy. The results provide evidence of the high structural perfection of layers in the heterostructures. Y1Ba2Cu3O(7-x) films that are thicker than 500 A exhibit a high current carrying capacity in all the heterostructures if the total length of the structure does not exceed 5000 A.
