Radar investigation of magnetospheric turbulence
Abstract
Results of radar studies of the auroral magnetosphere in the short-wave range are reported. It is shown that the spectral characteristics of the signal correspond to scattering by ion-acoustic turbulence in the field-aligned current region at heights of about 4000 km.
