Gas velocity field in the central parts of the spiral galaxies NGC 23, 1134, 4536.
Abstract
New results are presented of gas line-of-sight velocity measurements in the central parts (r is less than 15 arcsec) of three spiral galaxies - NGC 23, 1134, and 4536 - with large line-of-sight velocity gradients in the nuclei. The proximity of the position angles of photometric and dynamical major axes provides evidence of gas motions in nuclear regions occurring in the plane of a stellar disk. An extended region of about 8 x 4 arcsec with abnormally low line-of-sight velocities is found in NGC 23.
