On the frequency of supernova outbursts.
Abstract
An attempt was made to determine supernova frequency on the basis of supernova search data from the Sternberg Astronomical Institute. It is shown that the observed increase of SN I rate from early to late type galaxies is primarily due to SN Ib explosions, and that the frequency of SN II with less than average luminosity is approximately four times greater than the rate of brighter Sn II.
