Results of the solar x-ray image study onboard the Phobos 1 space probe (the TEREK experiment)
Abstract
The purpose of the TEREK experiment onboard the Phobos 1 space probe was the imaging of the whole solar disc in X- and e.u.v.-radiation, and of the white-light corona, with the aim of obtaining complex information of solar activity phenomena in combination with X-ray photometers on the same satellite. Unfortunately, because of the premature end of activity of the Phobos 1 probe in the last days of August 1988, continuous observation was not possible. Only the functioning of the instrument has been verified. The observation of one solar flare demonstrates the good conception and performance of the instrument.
