On the optimal trajectories in gravitational fields allowing approximation by a central linear field.
Abstract
It is shown that for motions, allowing approximation of the gravitational field by a central linear field, the equations of Mayer's variational problem for a point with a limited mass flow rate permit an analytical solution. The case when the ellipse is the hodograph of the basis-vector corresponding to the gradation of zero and maximum thrust sections is selected and analyzed. Results are aaplied to the solution of the problem of change in velocity from local circular to elliptic in a central Newtonian field.
