Magnetic losses in ferrites and nanocrystalline ribbons for power applications

The frequency and induction dependence of magnetic losses in Mn-Zn ferrites and in nanocrystalline alloys have been studied. At high frequencies (>100 kHz) the specific loss in power ferrites is remarkably lower than in the nanocrystalline material if induction values usually used in power supplies are applied.
