Investigation of the internal structure of optically thick objects via pairs of spectral lines
Abstract
Equations for the introscopy of an optically thick luminous object are obtained for plane-parallel and axisymmetric cases. It is shown that the method of pairs of spectral lines makes it possible to determine the total optical thickness and the spatial variations of the absorption coefficient. Introscopy equations are obtained for the case of arbitrary geometry. It is shown that the method of line pairs makes it possible to investigate the variation of the local absorption coefficient over the object.
