Observation of a diffusion wave of energetic electrons of the outer radiation belt in June 1986
Abstract
The dynamics of a diffusion wave of electrons of the outer belt in the 0.04-2.0 MeV range is investigated on the basis of Cosmos-1520 and Cosmos-1554 data. A simultaneous shift in the intensity peaks of electrons of different energies was observed. Evaluations of the diffusion coefficients are shown to agree well with the theory of particle diffusion under the effect of sudden impulses.
