Geomagnetic effects of solar subflares
Abstract
It is noted that solar subflares near the earth's helioprojection can be accompanied by geomagnetic disturbances that differ in structure and intensity. Using a number of examples, it is argued that this diverse character of geomagnetic disturbances is due to a diversity of subflare situations and corresponding complex interplanetary disturbances.
