Specific heat of YBa2Cu3O(7-delta) ceramic - Theoretical models and experiment
Abstract
Results of measurements of the temperature dependence of the molar specific heat of YBa2Cu3O(7-delta) ceramic (delta = 0.05, 1) in the temperature range 5-250 K are reported. Various theoretical approaches used in the literature to describe the lattice specific heat of high-temperature superconductors are examined. A model is proposed which allows for optical phonon modes in addition to acoustic modes. The model is used to determine various parameters of the phonon system of the ceramic. A comparative analysis is made of the superconducting and nonsuperconducting states of the ceramic specimens.
