Stability of the fine structure of the stratospheric acoustic waveguide
Abstract
The results of the detection of acoustic waves at long distances from explosions detonated in different parts of he Soviet Union (Kirghizia and the Vladimir region) are presented. The possibilities of using ground explosions with an energy of 10 to the 8th J for sounding the fine structure of stratospheric layers with vertical scales of 10-100 m are determined. The stability of the fine structure of acoustic pulses refracted from stratospheric heights during seven days is observed. Examples of the similarity of the fine structure of acoustic signals at distances of 500 km and 650 km from explosions are presented.
