0.5 W CW diffraction-limited-beam operation from high-efficiency resonant-optical-waveguide diode-laser arrays
Abstract
20-element resonant-optical-waveguide antiguided arrays have been optimized for high-performance CW operation. Diffraction-limited-beam CW operation is obtained to 0.5 W; that is, far-field beam patterns of 0.7 deg lobe width are achieved. External differential quantum-efficiency values of 42 percent are obtained, whereas electrical-to-optical power conversion efficiencies at 0.5 W CW are as high as 20 percent.
