First results from GRO-COMPTEL.
Abstract
The ESA's Compton Imaging Telescope (Comptel), which was launched aboard the Gamma-Ray Observatory on April 5, 1991 is described with special attention given to the instrument specifications. The first results obtained by Comptel are discussed. These include images of Crab Nebula, a precise light curve obtained from Crab Pulsar, and observations of the 3 May 1991 gamma burst with 1 deg accuracy and of two solar flares that occurred two days apart.
