Generalized solutions for electromagnetic scattering by elliptical structures
Abstract
The electromagnetic scattering of the transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) waves by elliptic cylindrical structures is considered. To provide a complete set of solutions, formulations are given for four possible configurations. They include conducting elliptic cylinders, made of homogeneous materials, dielectric coated conducting elliptic cylinders and two confocal dielectric elliptic cylinders. Representative numerical results for the scattered fields are also generated and presented.
