A Jet Model for a Very High State of GX 339-4
Abstract
A jet model is proposed which explain results derived by Ginga observation of GX 339 - 4 in its very high state. Specifically, the model can explain: (1) the possible existence of large Compton clouds of 1-billion-cm size; (2) the independent change of the soft and hard components in the long term; (3) the rapid variability of the hard tail component in the short term; and (4) the possible existence of absorbing matter around the compact star.
