Observations of bright X-ray sources with the WATCH instrument
Abstract
The WATCH instrument installed on the Soviet GRANAT spacecraft was designed to detect and localize gamma-ray bursts, to monitor the time variability of persistent x-ray sources and to detect and localize x-ray transients using the rotating modulation collimator. Since the launch of GRANAT spacecraft in December 1989, observations of more than a dozen bright x-ray sources were carried out. The results of monitoring of some sources as well as the timing analysis are presented.
