Formation of pregalactic dust and the cosmic microwave background spectrum
Abstract
The process of dust-grain formation in a cosmological model with population III stars at redshifts between 30 and 50 is examined. The kinetic theory of nucleation is used to show that the complexes H(+)(H2O) are the condensation centers of saturated water vapor. The relative contribution of 'polluted' ice to the total matter mass can reach an Omega(d) value of 0.00005, which makes it necessary to consider the interaction of dust and radiation when analyzing the cosmic microwave background spectrum.
