Results of polarimetry of VV Serpentis.
Abstract
Results are reported of simultaneous photoelectric and electropolarimetric BVR observations of the Hebrig Ae star VV Ser. The linear polarization of the variable star was found to increase as its brightness decreases. The largest increase was detected in the B photometric system. This correlation between the stellar light variations and the intrinsic polarization was observed on almost the entire photometric variability curve of VV Ser. There is the likelihood that the star has a reverse correlation near its brightness maximum. The wavelength dependence of the intrinsic polarization for VV Ser varies from the Rayleigh scattering to the interstellar polarization.
