A compact star forming region associated with V 1331 Cyg.
Abstract
Results of photoelectric UBVR-photometry of 139 stars in the vicinity of the variable star V 1331 Cyg are presented. Twenty-three H-alpha-emission stars, including 10 new objects, were discovered with an objective prism of the 1-m Biurakan Schmidt telescope. On the basis of two-color and H-R diagrams of MR V 1331 Cyg in combination with an original map of interstellar absorption, 14 nonemission stars associated with the V 1331 Cyg star-forming region are selected. An analysis is made of the variability of V 1331 Cyg, LkH-alpha 321 and LkH-alpha 324 using photoelectric observations made between 1986 and 1988. The distances to MR V 1331 Cyg is 550 pc; the molecular cloud mass is 5000 solar masses; the total mass of the stars is 150 to 300 solar masses; and the star formation efficiency is 5 percent.
