Photometric properties of Phobos' regolith determined from PHOBOS mission data
Abstract
Results are reported of Phobos spectrophotometry in the range 300-600 nm based on data obtained by the KRFM spectrophotometer on board the Phobos spacecraft in 1989. The reflectivity of Phobos is found to have little in common with that in previous studies. It does not agree with reflectivity features of carbonaceous chondrites and does not permit unique identification with any other type of meteoritic material. In the 300-600-nm spectral range, a wide variety of the reflectivity features was observed to be connected with details of relief.
