Methanol Masers and Submillimeter Wavelength Water Masers in Star-Forming Regions
Abstract
Two recent developments in cosmic maser research are reviewed: First, the observational status resulting from the detection of strong maser emission from about a dozen cm- and mm-wavelength transitions of methanol toward numerous star-forming regions is described in some detail. Second, the recent discovery of several new maser transitions of interstellar water vapor at (sub)millimeter wavelengths is summarized.
