Radial velocities of turnoff stars in two intermediate-age open clusters.
Abstract
The authors have studied membership and duplicity of turnoff stars in IC 4651 and NGC 3680 from CORAVEL radial velocities. Overshooting models appear to match the true cluster sequences best. However, their main conclusion is that only with proper non-member and binary identification can one reliably fit critical details of computed isochrones to observed cluster color-magnitude diagrams.
