A Radio Search for Continuum Emission from S-Type Red Giants with White Dwarf Companions
Abstract
A program of VLA observations has been conducted to search for radio-continuum emission at 3.6 cm from nine evolved stars of spectral classes S and MS. The radio data are used together with a simple model to place limits on the amount of ionized material present in the winds of these stars. The results are then discussed in the broader context of the radio-continuum emission properties of late-type evolved stars.
