The parameters R and Teff in stellar models and observations.
Abstract
Different definitions of radii and effective temperatures in extended-atmosphere stars (protostars, red giants, central stars of planetary nebulae, Wolf-Rayet stars, (novae, and supernovae) are reviewed and clarified. Their properties, their interrelations and their meaning for interior models, for atmospheric models and for the interpretation of flux and of angular diameter measurements are discussed.
