The UV-delay in dwarf nova outbursts as a consequence of details of the accretion disks' vertical stratification.
Abstract
Results of time dependent model calculations are presented for the evolution of dwarf nova accretion disks with self-consistent viscosity description. New features in the stationary vertical stratification, due to this modeling of viscosity, make it possible to explain quantitatively the halt in the visual wavelength band in the rise to maximum during a dwarf nova outburst. The same features are also responsible for the UV-delay during rise to maximum.
