Analysis of the effect of nonfluctuation noise on the noise immunity of signal reception in data transmission. II  Continuous phase modulated signals
Abstract
An algorithm for minimizing the error probability of a series of continuous phase modulated signals in the presence of nonfluctuation noise is described. The algorithm has been implemented in computer software for calculating the noise immunity of binary continuous phase modulated signals with a fixed modulation index. The error probability is plotted as a function of the S/N ratio for continuous phase modulated signals with modulation indices of 0.5 and 0.835 and for signals with an optimal modulation index of 0.715.
