Semi-inclusive rapidity distributions and a critical analysis of the concept of partition temperature
Abstract
An analytical computation of the partition temperature of a n-particles system of total invariant mass M with a transverse-momentum cutoff has been performed. The result has been used to compare with the previously obtained fitted values at sq. root of s = 540 GeV, which show a complete disagreement with the now available ones, calculated by starting from the definition. The effect of the center-of-mass motion of the system on the pseudo-rapidity distributions is also discussed.
