Fatigue analysis of structural elements under random loading
Abstract
The fatigue characteristics of a component under harmonic loading are determined in the context of the 'weakest link' statistical strength theory. Based on the results, a fatigue curve is plotted for the case of random loading. The random loading process is described by a statistical parameter characterizing the loading structure from the standpoint of its effect of the fatigue life, which makes it possible to avoid schematic representations of random processes and fatigue damage accumulation hypotheses.
