Thermoelasticity problem for an open-profile cylindrical shell with a localized temperature field
Abstract
A procedure is presented for solving the thermoelasticity problem for a hinged open-profile cylindrical shell exposed to a temperature field. The governing equations and expressions relating the displacements, forces, and bending moments are presented for two cases: a shell with a constant temperature over the wall thickness and a shell with a temperature gradient in the thickness direction. Calculation examples are included.
