A formal description of a system consisting of a fuel meter and a fuel tank is developed in terms of an algorithmic space and a sequence of algorithms. Two different types of the interaction between the main components of the system are considered, and the optimization problem is formulated, which can be solved by the method of two-level approximation. The computational schemes proposed here have been implemented in software written in FORTRAN.
