Measurements of the flow through an orifice plate flowmeter
Abstract
This paper summarizes results of an experimental study of the flow through an orifice plate flowmeter. The mean velocity and mean values of the fluctuating axial velocity were measured with a dual beam, one component, laser Doppler velocimeter. These experiments were carried out in order to obtain detailed information about velocities. From these results, the influence of Beta ratio and Reynolds number on the flow development, turbulent mixing and length of reattachment are characterized.
