A new optical vibration transducer - Role in design and industrial applications
Abstract
A unique vibration measuring instrument has been developed. Unlike conventional optical techniques, this instrument does not need a specialized laboratory or stable environment. Important features as compared with other optical techniques are: instantaneous vibration measurement for use under broad band or service load conditions; wide dynamic range; and large area coverage with a low power laser. The measurement principle and system features are described. Applications are presented to illustrate some of the many capabilities of the system.
