Advanced Milsatcom payload technologies
Abstract
Milsatcom users require high data rate systems with both increased capacity and more resistance to stressed environments. To meet these demands, Milsatcom services for wideband users are moving toward the EHF frequency bands. The space segment needed to support the wideband requirements will need to incorporate a number of advanced payload technologies such as uplink antennas with adaptive nulling, on-board signal processing, and high effective downlink transmission powers. A number of these advanced technologies will be discussed in the context of future wideband EHF satellite payloads.
