Accumulation of path difference errors in methods with layer-by-layer splitting of the object of study
Abstract
The problem of path difference accumulation in methods with layer-by-layer splitting is considered with particular reference to the reconstruction of gas density from interferometric observations of supersonic aerodynamic objects. Knowledge of the dispersion of the residual path difference is essential for constructing an adequate mathematical model of density distribution within a layer and for estimating the density dispersion. An algorithm is presented for calculating the dispersion matrices of the residual path difference with allowance for the correlation of the minuends and subtrahends.
