A control methodology for low-thrust orbital transfers
Abstract
This paper outlines the development of a control methodology that allows the generation of highly efficient low-thrust trajectories between elliptical orbits in near-earth space. A computer model is developed based on the method, and several case studies are performed to evaluate the model. The case studies include 28.5-deg LEO to GEO, 28.5-deg LEO to polar orbit, and transfer between two arbitrary elliptical orbits.
