Nonequilibrium chemistry effects on hypersonic separated flows: Shockwave/boundarylayer interaction
Abstract
The effect of nonequilibrium chemical reactions on separated hypersonic flow is investigated. The model used to generate the separated flow is a hypersonic shock wave/boundary layer interaction on a flat plate in a high enthalpy flow. The flow was calculated by means of a finitedifference, timemarching solution. The results show that nonequilibrium effects can be important in the separated flow region, and that future applications should be aware of such effects.
