Boundary layer control by means of strong injection
Abstract
The corrosive gas and solid particles in a pipe can be 'blown off' the wall for a time. The present work is an experimental investigation of the parallel injection problem carried out for gases of equal density for two different velocity ratios, 0.83 and 0.708. It takes over 150 and 120 slot heights in length for the corrosive gas to reach the wall for the high- and low-speed flows respectively.
