Polarization of the emission of relativistic charged particles during channeling
Abstract
The polarization properties of relativistic particle emission during channeling are examined in the context of quantum electrodynamics. The polarization characteristics of photons are calculated for potentials of the general kind. Final results are obtained by using a parabolic potential to approximate the effect of atomic planes on the relativistic positron in the transverse plane. An analysis of the Stokes parameters shows that the emission is linearly polarized practically over the entire region of the observed polar and azimuthal angles.
