X-Ray Detector: An x-ray radiation detector design code
Abstract
X-Ray Detector (XRD) is an x-ray detector design code. It is intended to aid in the rapid design of x-ray detector packages. The design capabilities of XRD include filters, x-ray mirrors, x-ray diodes, silicon PIN diodes, GaAs PIN diodes, photoconducting detectors, bolometers, and x-ray film. XRD uses x-ray cross-section information stored in easily-modified external libraries. Interactive calculations are completed in seconds using a DEC VAX 8650. Some of the more notable features of XRD are edge handling in the x-ray photoelectric cross-section data, I/O error handling, internal error messages, nearly bomb-proof design, and extensive documentation.
