Extra-soft X-ray excess of quasars
Abstract
One of the features of the quasar multiwaveband spectra is that a big bump, ranging from optical to soft X-ray, is superimposed on the nonthermal power-law spectrum. Using the low-energy X-ray spectral data of a sample consisting of 33 strong soft X-ray quasars, the spectral properties in the extra-soft X-ray band are investigated. The spectral indices were statistically analyzed, and their statistical law was obtained. This law can be used in the development of a big bump model.
